All you need to know about FLIBS 2019

After the last edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, where we delivered 21 stand presentations, the FairPromotion team has worked on delivering 5 stands at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This year was extra exciting because the moving of the Superyacht Pavilion to Pier66. We hope that our 5 clients have a very succesfull boat show in Fort Lauderdale!

 

 

 

 

 

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show celebrate her 60th anniversary. The show is running from 30 October until 3 November 2019 and is this week the superyacht capital of the world. The show that find her live in 1959 had in her first edition 13 exhibitors. Now there are around the 1200 exhibitors each year and at least 110.000 attendees from 52 countries are expected to visit the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The FLIBS has exponentially grown over the past few decades. It began as a boat show for local exhibitor’s but is now grown into one of the biggest worldwide yacht shows. This show has a regional economic impact of nearly 1 billion dollar.

At the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show there will be 4 billion-worth of yachts, which include 2.2 billion-worth of superyachts (131 feet or larger). The sales average are around the 100 million a day and the average boat length of these sales are around the 100 to 126 feet.

Where to go and how to get around?

The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show takes place at seven locations across the city. The main entrance is located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd, at he Bahia Mar Yachting Centre. FLIBS 2019 is open between 10am until 7pm. On Sunday the FLIBS will close at 6pm. Here you can find the complete list of locations of the FLIBS.

The best way to move from between different show locations is the watertaxi. This is the fastest (and you see everything that is on display) way to get around. This service starts at 8.30am until 8.30pm and you pay $12 for an all-day ticket. Every show location has is own pick-up and drop-off point. There is also a shuttlebus service that takes you around the show.

SuperYacht Village

This year there are also some changes at the 60th anniversary of the FLIBS. Because of the replacement of the ‘Superyacht Village’ to Pier66. The village will be the newest enclave where they show a collection of world’s finest yachts. With as crown jewel vessels topping over 300 feet. Next to the superyachts the village will also feature yacht toys including helicopters, personal submarines and exotic supercars. Also, an on-site dining destination, exclusive VIP events and areas of discovery will also pop up within the Superyacht Village.

The Superyacht Village is open for all people with a general admission ticket. And has acces by water tenders and shuttlebus routes from the other six locations.

Where to eat?

Most visitors will go to Coconuts at 429 Seabreeze Boulevard. This is THE prime setting to socialise, have the most amazing views over the water and enjoying the best seafood the city has to offer. Don’t want to leave the show for lunch? Than go to the Anglers’ Lounge in the Broward County Convention Centre. Here you can try the Key West-style tapas and have a good view over the boat show.

For dining, go to Chima Steakhous at Las Olas Boulevard. Here you can get Brazilian beef but also a variety of fresh and tasty salads.

It’s a wrap: the Monaco Yacht Show

At this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, FairPromotion has built 22 stands, organized an event, shipped 225 m3 of shipmodels to Monaco, and in total had 14 trailers stocked with show material brought to the show. As much as 50 colleagues worked around the clock to make it work; to ensure each client presentation was ready for show opening on the 25th of October.

Every year the Monaco Yacht Show find place in the iconic port of Hercules. More than 590 companies come here together to visit and take part the Monaco Yacht Show. With more than 125 superyachts this is one of the biggest boat shows in the world. This year there are even 42 new superyacht launched at this event. The average price of all these superyachts is around the 37 million euros.

When you are visiting Monaco’s Yacht show there are some other things that you need to see.
Monaco has a lot more to offer than only luxury and expensive places.
Everyone knows the Casino, F1 track, Palaces and other real tourisitc places, but despite the size of Monaco there is a lot more to discover.
That’s why we want to give a few local spots and must sees you need to visit when you really want to experience Monaco.

    Gardens of Monaco
    When you walk through Monaco you immediately get indulged by all the beautiful flowers and gardens.
    A few of the gardens that are worth a visit are:
    Jardin Japonais
    You won’t expect this in Monaco, but in the east of the principality you will find a traditional japanese garden.
    Covered with Zen gardens beautiful designed gardens and stone work, it’s something sepcial.
    in this 7000 meters of gardens you even find a little beach were you can enjoy a little quite spot.
    Les Jardins Saint-Martin
    Les Jardins Saint-Martin have a beautiful panorama over the sparkling Mediterranean Sea below and are known for a memorial statue of Prince Albert I.
    You can find a stunning amount of indidious and exotic plants because of the mediterranean sun. Also you can find a lot of dainty pools, pretty fountains and stunning views over the azure waters.

    Have a drink at Quay Jean Charles Rey
    This erea is located on the edge of the harbour is the perfect way to end your busy day.
    With a variety of  bars and restaurant, ranging from English pubs to luxurious restaurants.
    you have a scenic view over the harbour and a beautiful sunset. If you ask me that’s a perfect way to end your day!

    Walk around Fontvieille Park
    The park sits on reclaimed land and is the best place to admire the green spaces in the whole of Monaco.
    You will find lots of palm trees and olive groves and there are a number of lakes and ponds that attract the local fauna.
    Ducks and swans swim in the lakes all year round and there is an elegant Sculpture Path that spans four hectares.

    Enjoy the worlds finest dining
    With all the luxury comes the demand of the best quisine there is.
    That’s why Monaco counts thirteen michelin restaurants, topped with the three star Michelin star resaurant, Le Louis XV.
    So if you really want to indulge yourself with haute-quizine Monaco is the place to be.
    But don’t forget the local quizine. Their are a lot of restaurants that are reasonalbe priced en serve very good food aswell.
    So if you don’t have the budget to eat at Michelin star restaurants every day, their are a lot of good options.

    Walk around the Old Town
    The oldest part of Monaco is focused on ‘Le Rocher’ which means ‘The Rock’ and is a maze of charismatic little paths that date from the middle ages.
    You will find a huge range of the best attractions in Monaco but also one of the nicest things to do here is to wander around and visit anything that catches your eye like small boutiques and cafes.
